EACH class offers a chance to learn and discover for you and your child and also includes numerous strategy tips, ideas and specific demonstrations of how to teach certain signs- especially abstract ones which are more challenging to teach without proper guidance.

You will learn:

  • What types and how many signs to introduce to your child
  • Keys to success
  • How to recognize your child’s first signs
  • Attention getting strategies
  • Troubleshooting
  • Abstract signs

Using the skills learned in class, continuing the learning process at home will be an easy one and the ultimate goal of verbal language development will be easily achieved.

In EVERY class you will also learn wonderful information about your child's unique development and why certain activities are used in the class to help encourage this development including nurturing their imagination, playfulness, problem solving, social skills and musicality.

Why is music and movement such a big part of a Tiny Talker’s sign language class? In addition to being a sign language specialist, I am also a music educator and a mother and I know that children are innately drawn to music and also learn best through movement. Music stimulates and awakens different parts of the brain, immersing the child in language and helps develop memory while movement helps to develop their coordination.

So . . . set the date, check out the birthday party package info below, and contact me to schedule or to find out more.

Attendance and Recommended Ages

Birthday parties are limited to 15 children in attendance. A MusicalBirthday Party is best suited for children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years and their adult caregiver(s).

Adult Participation

For children and guests ages 1 to 3, there must be one actively participating adult with each child.

For children over the age of 3, adult participation is encouraged, but optional. I do ask that at least one adult be present and available for every 5 children in attendance.

What Comes First?

Plan to start your party with Sign, Sing and Play. Food, toys, and gifts should come out after the educator leaves. You might even choose to do a Musical Craft with the children afterwards. (A quick internet search on "homemade instruments" can give you lots of ideas.)

Party Location

We come to you!! You find the place to hold the party—at a community center, clubhouse, your place of worship—anywhere suitable to accommodate a group of children having FUN! We'll bring the instruments, props, CD player, and the entertainment. If you are planning on using an area in your home, please move the furniture around to help create a large open space and remove all toys from that area. We'll bring all necessary items for the activities.

The most successful Musical Birthday Parties are held indoors in a large room with open floor space and as few distractions (such as food, toys, and other activities) as possible. NOTE: The space must be large enough for all in attendance to sit and stand in a circle as well as to move around freely.

Scheduling

I need a minimum of 2 weeks notice (preferably more) to make sure the party fits on my calendar.
A deposit of 50% total payment is due at the time of booking, with the balance due upon arrival at the party. The fee is partially refundable if you cancel the party ($35 cancellation fee is charged.)

Why Music For Young Children and What Are The Benefits?
Children are innately drawn to music…and why shouldn't they be? They have been listening to the rhythm and melody of their mother's voice since the fourth month after conception.

Children learn best through moving and listening. Music and movement classes will help them grow and develop into successful students.

Benefits to Children

  • Language
  • Self Expression
  • Memory Skills
  • Concentration
  • Social Interaction
  • Fine Motor Skills
  • Listening
  • Problem Solving
  • Teamwork
  • Goal Setting
  • Coordination
  • Music awakens and stimulates neural pathways in the brain that are associated with higher forms of intelligence, such as abstract thinking, empathy, mathematics and science.
  • Music's melodic and rhythmic patterns provide exercise for the brain and help develop memory. Remember singing the ABC song to learn your ABC's? Studying music helps children establish good listening habits, which are essential for achievement in school.
  • Overall, music activities are perfect for child development. Music immerses the child in language, evokes movement, stimulates the brain and fosters physical coordination- all in a group setting that builds community- a holistic experience.
